By Gail Simmons
INGREDIENTS
- 9 blackberries, divided
- 1 tsp. lemon zest, plus a pinch more for garnish
- .5 oz. orange blossom honey
- 1 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 oz. Old Fitzgerald 7-Year-Old
- 1 to 2 oz. club soda
HOW TO MAKE
In a cocktail shaker, muddle 6 blackberries, the lemon zest and honey. Add the lemon juice and
bourbon. Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is
very cold, about 30 seconds. Fill a rocks glass with ice cubes, then strain the mixture into it. Top
with club soda to taste. Garnish with a skewer or toothpick of 3 more blackberries and a pinch of
lemon zest.
Note: if you prefer no blackberries seeds in the cocktail, pour into glass over a fine mesh
strainer.
